I
am not-me
Thu Oct 5 2023
If
every person is like a piece of wood when they are born, then during the
process of growth, we are constantly forced to discard “undesirable” traits and
habits, and we are divided into very small pieces of wood.
In
the process of interacting with thousands and thousands of people, some of them
also become a part of ourselves. The wood chips that fall off in communication
and collision, the memories - love and tolerance, bullying and humiliation,
those moments of not understanding... they all continuously work as invisible
hands trying to reshape every single “me”. Each “me” is actually composed of
millions of “not me”.
By
reassembling the pieces of wood and using gloves to reshape the wood chips, I
hope to give these waste materials a second life, and at the same time, express
my view on the complexity of a person's growth.
